TYREIK Wright insists there is no sign of a Valley Parade wobble after three home games without a win.

And he cannot wait to return to their own backyard again this weekend against improving Crawley.

Wright was as cut up as anyone after Swindon’s late equaliser in midweek negated his third goal in a Bantams shirt.

That followed on from the first home loss of the campaign to Stockport and a scrambled 2-2 draw with Wimbledon.

But the on-loan winger saw enough in City’s performance on Tuesday night to suggest that there will be no apprehension going straight back on Parade.

Wright said: “It is really frustrating but you want to get back on the pitch as soon as possible and we’re looking forward to it.

“I was absolutely gutted. It felt like a defeat more than a draw because we played so well and were so positive.

“We had so many chances to kill off the game but it just wasn’t meant to be. Obviously, they then went down the other end and get the penalty.

“We were unlucky but we’ll pick ourselves straight back up against Crawley and hopefully get the three points.”

Mark Hughes has stressed from the off about the importance of City producing strong home form this season after claiming only six Valley Parade victories in the whole of the last campaign.

They won three of their opening five games, thwarted by goalless draws against Doncaster and Crewe, but blew the chance to get back to winning ways when they failed to build on Wright’s first-half strike.

He added: “We obviously want to get on a winning run again. It’s been a while since we’ve been on one.

“I thought Tuesday night was our best performance for a while so that’s a positive we can take.

“The signs were there that it’s coming, especially during the first half. But we’ve got to carry that on through the full 90 minutes.

“Leading 1-0 isn’t a comfortable score in any league. We should have put the game to bed but we didn’t.

“I thought we were definitely the better team in the first half. We were excellent, to be honest, and very positive on the ball, creating a lot of chances.

“But they were still in the game and lucky to get a draw. We all felt hard done by but it is what it is and we’ve got to move on quickly to the weekend.

“It is frustrating but I’m sure it will come in time. We have the players to kill off games and I’m sure it will start happening for us throughout the rest of the season.”

Wright’s form continues to impress and he is enjoying linking up with Dion Pereira and Harry Chapman. The Luton loanee has had a sticky start to his second City spell but produced his liveliest display and supplied the assist for the goal.

“When Dion gets on the ball, I know he’s always looking for that pass,” said Wright. “I made the run, he found me and I stuck it in the back of the net.

“When you’ve got creative players like him and Chappy, I’m always going to make those runs because I know they will find me.”

“We have other players that are getting a lot of chances but it’s just not going in for them at the moment. But I’m confident that once they start coming, they won’t stop.

“I’ve just taken my chance since I’ve come here and I’ve no regrets so far. I’m playing with a smile on my face.

“We will analyse the game from Tuesday but we haven’t got much time to dwell on it. That’s a good thing.

“We’ll get straight back into training today ready to go again for the Crawley game.”
