AFTER the recent successes of the Yorkshire Sharks Dragonboat team, it would be no surprise that they shone again at the National Finals last weekend in Nottingham.
Two Yorkshire clubs had an incredibly successful Nationals (BDA) Finals, which included the Sharks and Manvers, a team closely affiliated with the side from Shipley.
The Yorkshire Sharks impressed throughout, earning 1st place in the Men’s 200m, 3rd place in the Mixed 200m, 2nd place in the Senior 200m, 3rd place in the Men’s 500m, 3rd place in the Mixed 500m, while the Ladies team won their major finals.
The Manvers Dragons also claimed top spot in two of their events, 2nd spot in one event and 3rd spot in two events.
In total, 11 trophies were collected between the two clubs who only started in 2019 and then had to endure a huge enforced break due to Covid.
John Galt also received a special mention during the trophy presentation for his commitment to aiding grass roots development of the sport.
