TOWN End Farm hosted the Bradford Motor Club trial on Wednesday evening and 39 competitors rode eight sections in the deep natural valley.
As usual the shallow Cowling Beck figured in the results. Shallow - maybe, slippery - yes. Not a great amount of water but enough. The steep grassy climbs featured in the action and some climbs up the river banks also took marks. 24 novices and six youths tackled the hard route.
Silsden's Josh Pearson cleaned seven sections riding his Vertigo then dabbed the final hazard on the second lap. That ride won him the class from Joel Holdsworth and Robert Berry who tied on two. Holdsworth got the verdict on farthest clean.
Also a tie breaker involved in the 50/50 class where Beta mounted novice Richard Whitaker produced twenty cleans compared to Vernon Clarke's twenty seven. Noah Morten also tie breaked To win the Beginner class. Special mention for the youngsters. Guy Whalley and Archie Wellock rode the hard route and won their classes. Embsay youngster Archie Drachenberg again impressed with a Class C victory in the 50/50 class as did Callum Edmondson.
The form carried on in all classes. Noah Morten won the easy class on mere three dabs from Class D winner Jacob Smith. In fifth place was seven year old Rocco Wilson who was with observer Tony Holmes the previous week at Dob Park where the temperature was bordering on 40 c.
