WILSDEN and Sutton got the revamped Manorlands Plate off to a cracking start in the Mewies Solicitors Craven League.

Visitors Wilsden won the toss at Royd Hill and racked up 227-0, with Hasnat Bukhari cracking 123 not out and Chris Mitchell 72 not out.

Both batters faced 51 balls, with Bukhari hitting four fours and an incredible 15 sixes, while Mitchell hit five fours and four sixes.

Not cowed by facing this mammoth total, Sutton made a good fist of their reply, making 192-3 for a total of 419 runs scored and just three wickets lost.

The hosts had their own centurion in Sam Solley, who made 101 not out off 52 balls, smiting seven fours and five sixes, and adding 90 unbroken with Rob Tedder (36no).

Riddlesden also topped 200, scoring 202-4 at home to Keighley in anther first-round tie.

Aftab Khan’s 89 was the highlight, but he was supported by Saquib Hassan (27) and Mohammad Gulnawaz (31), with Raheem Hussain taking 2-27.

Keighley made 107-7 in reply, Dawud Qurban top-scoring with 23, Khan taking 5-4 to cap a magnificent all-round display, while Muhammad Nadeem took 2-22.

Denholme beat Oakworth by five wickets after losing the toss,with Oakworth all out for 111, despite 36 from Bradley Powell, 27 from Jake Keslinke and 24 from Jack Davison.

Ryan Clark (2-30) and Richard Taylor (2-27) were among the wickets, and Adrian Shires (28) and keeper Callum Gerrard (33) then helped Denholme home with 15 balls to spare.

Closest match of the first round was that between Ingrow and Skipton CI at Sandylands.

The visitors won the toss and scored 115-7, with Adam Marks scoring 25.

CI then fell five runs short at 110-5, with Rob Cockell making 26 and Will Shuttleworth 22, Mo Chowdhory taking 2-23.

Airedale deserve credit for making the trip to Foulridge on a Thursday night and winning.

The Lancastrians won the toss and batted, scoring 114-6, with Jabbran Sajjad (27), Jonathan Labuschagne (23) and Zeeshan Aslam (25) all breaking 20.

Scott Whittam-Ritche took 2-24 for Airedale, who replied with 117-6 off 76 balls, led by Jake Wilkinson (44) as Sajjad took 2-22 and Shabaz Munir 2-27.

Bingley Congs played on the same night at home to plucky visitors Gargrave and made 101, with Josh Nutting scoring over a third of those with 34.

Ben Howlett took 2-20, Will Smith 3-23 and Matt Simpson 2-12, but Gargrave could only make 57 in reply (James Freebury 23) as Matty Roberts took 4-11, Johandre Barnard 2-13 and James Dennison 2-12.

Barrowford were handed a walkover by visitors Haworth but the competition has been revived by turning it from a T20 to a One Hundred.
