BRADFORD Premier League stars of yesteryear are turning back the clock for a special T20 challenge at Hartshead Moor this evening.

A Bradford League Legends XI, containing players who thrilled cricket followers for many years, are taking on Hartshead Moor at Highmoor Lane.

Leading the side will be the ageless East Bierley and Woodlands legend Murphy Walwyn, who has been one of the biggest crowd pleasers over the past five decades.

Alongside him will be popular figures like 1,000 wicket men John Carruthers and Greg Colehan, as well as the two outstanding Pudsey St Lawrence batsmen James Smith and Iain Priestley.

The Legends side also includes the ebullient Andrew Bairstow, brother of England Test start Jonny, who had a stellar Bradford League career with East Bierley and Pudsey Congs.

The T20 game, which will start at 6.30pm, will be preceded by an All-Stars demo and U9/U11 game from 5pm.

Admission to the game is free but all the money from the evening will go towards junior cricket at Hartshead Moor and the Andy’s Man Club charity.

Food and drink will be available throughout the evening and Hartshead Moor are hoping for a bumper turn out.
