BRADFORD boxer Harris Akbar has won gold at the European Championships in Armenia.
He beat his British team-mate Garan Croft in the final of the light-middleweight division.
Akbar, 23, was the only gold medallist for Great Britain at the end, though they did pick up three silver and four bronzes.
His stunning success means he is just the third Englishman, after Luke Campbell in 2008 and Peter McGrail in 2017, to be crowned European Champion.
The T&A are set to conduct an interview with Akbar later this week after his return from Armenia.
