BRADFORD BULLDOGS enjoyed another day of Ball Hockey success, winning two titles and finishing runners-up in all three age groups at the National Qualifiers.

The Under-13s and Under-10s won their categories, while the Under-16s came in second at the Bench Buddy Arena in Rotherham.

The Under-16s were first in action, coming away from their opening encounter against Nottingham with a hard-earned 3-3 draw, the goals coming from Daragh Spawforth (2) and Tom Mardell.

A 5-0 win against Kraken followed with Danny Harrison leading the way with two goals, joined on the scoresheet by Mackenzie Barker, Spawforth and Jacob Mardell.

It got even better with an 8-1 triumph over Sheffield Steelers Blue, Spawforth, Barker and Harrison bagging two apiece, while Frank O’Sullivan and Tom Mardell completed the scoring.

But their hopes of coming away from the event with a trophy were scuppered in the final game when they lost out 2-0 to Steelers Orange.

The Under-10s were nothing if not consistent, winning all three of their games 3-0.

Harry Clark, Finley Mardell and Kyle Bower scored against Sheffield, while South Leeds Rams were undone by a Bower double and a strike from Clark.

And it was Clark who led the way in the final game against Nottingham when he struck a double with Jack Morton rounding off the scoring.

In the afternoon, the Under-13s took to the floor and started as they meant to go on, Harrison and Leo Marsden on target in a 2-0 win over Nottingham Huskies.

The next outing saw them up against the Sheffield Steelers and it was Layden Fletcher-Robb who led the way, scoring twice, with O’Sullivan, Harrison, Charlie Barker and Jacob Mardell joining him on the scoresheet.

The next match proved to be the trophy decider against the Huskies again and it was a tight affair, the only goal being scored by O’Sullivan to secure a second trophy of the day.

On the ice, the Under-10s played host to the latest cross-ice competition, with Telford, Manchester and Leeds the visitors. Player of the day was Stevie Abdy, while George Clarke played his first game for the Bulldogs.
