Alfreton Town 0 Farsley 2
Farsley Celtic booked themselves a home tie against York City this weekend in the third round of the FA Trophy after beating Alfreton Town in a twice postponed second-round replay tonight.
The all Blue Square Premier clash with York at Throstle Nest could be held over to Sunday because both Leeds United and Leeds Rhinos are at home on Saturday.
Farsley's staff will be in discussions with West Yorkshire Police tomorrow.
Former Bantams manager Nicky Law had Alfreton well primed and Farsley had to dig deep.
They took the lead in the sixth minute against the run of play through Amjad Iqbal.
Farsley keeper Tom Morgan pulled off three very good saves after the hour as Alfreton enjoyed a good ten-minute spell before a second goal ten minutes from time gave Farsley breathing space.
Substitute Colin Heath unselfishly rolled the ball to Damian Reeves who stroked the ball into the open net.
