Neil Wall collected a personal 12-point tally to earn Bradford Dudley Hill a welcome share of the spoils in a 22-22 National Conference Division One draw at Eccles & Salford Juniors.

Hill, who badly needed to stop the recent rot that has seen them slip out of the promotion race, knew they had a tough task on their hands against a home outfit who knocked Premier Division local rivals West Bowling out of the National Cup.

They looked on course for both points on offer with a 12-4 interval lead thanks to tries from Barney Hopcroft and fellow wingman Wall, who also added both the extras.

Centre Alex Dickinson then crossed for Hill on the restart before Eccles, with former St Helens scrum half John McAtee directing operations, fought back to nose in front 22-16 with ten minutes left.

But Wall proved to be the Hill hero when he powered over and hooker Liam Jarvis calmly added the conversion to make sure of just reward for a determined team performance.
