Bradford Park Avenue 4, Eccleshill United 1

Avenue completed their expected victory in tonight's West Riding County Cup derby against Eccleshill United at Horsfall Stadium.

Two goals in each half for the home side, with a single reply from the Eagles, handed Bradford a straightforward win.

Avenue will also have home advantage in the semi-finals against either Halifax Town or Ossett Albion.

It took Avenue just 11 minutes to break the deadlock and it was leading striker Paul Gedman who found the net. He thumped the ball home from eight yards following a cross from Chris Gaghan.

With a little under two minutes of the first half remaining, Gedman struck again, heading in from 12 yards to convert a Stuart Howson cross.

Around the hour mark, Gaghan lashed in the third but Eccleshill soon hit back as Cameron Kerin netted a shot from just inside the area.

Liam Flynn came off the bench as a second-half substitute and he provided the fourth goal, playing the ball in to Mike Moseley, who completed the scoring just two minutes from time.

Avenue secretary and spokesman Steve Burnett said: "Eccleshill had a couple of chances in the first half, so we were pleased to turn around 2-0 up.

"I think the general feeling is that we deserved the win but they played well. It was just that it was a good performance from us that won the game rather than Eccleshill doing anything wrong."
