Guiseley 3, Matlock Town 1

A slick performance from Guiseley eased them to back-to-back home victories - but the late goal they conceded annoyed boss Steve Kittrick.

He said: "It was a very good win for us and I thought we played well against a good side but we had a needlessly nervous last 15 minutes."

"We told the lads after the game that we could have had problems after letting Matlock back into the game. The goal was well taken but a poor one to give away from a defensive point of view.

"Winning by a two-goal margin is all well and good but we have to be more professional and ruthless in our outlook."

Damian Dunne returned to strengthen the midfield and netted the third but was sent off in injury time.

James Cotterill played alongside Danny Ellis in a flat back four and was so assured you would not have known it was his first game.

Guiseley did most of the pressing in the first half but did not break the deadlock until a minute before the interval.

Town keeper Andy Rich-mond went in from behind on James Hanson and Mark Bett confidently fired home from the spot.

A threat from the visitors led to a lightning counter-attack from the home side as they doubled their advantage.

After Guiseley keeper Steve Dickinson had saved a shot from Simon Barraclough, a breakaway followed and a cross from the left wing saw James Hanson out-jump Richmond for number two.

Three minutes later, Dunne got on the end of another cross and expertly steered it inside the upright with a single touch.

Town cut the deficit when Ben Kitsell danced around Nathan Hay to chip the ball into the area for James Lukic to neatly volley over Dickinson.

Dunne blotted his copybook when he was brought down by Town left back Steve Circuit for a regulation free-kick.

The Guiseley midfielder overreacted and a fracas ensued. The referee had no option but to hand Dunne a red card and Circuit a yellow."
