The frustrations of postponement returned on Tuesday to nullify the feel-good factor at Guiseley but manager Steve Kittrick is still looking to lead his side to back-to-back home victories on Saturday.

Kittrick broke his duck, at the sixth time of asking following eight call-offs at home and away in recent weeks, with last Saturday's 3-1 win over Ashton United.

Everyone at Nethermoor will be hoping it opens the floodgates and tomorrow's visitors are Matlock Town, the side directly below Guiseley in the UniBond League Premier Division.

Kittrick said: "We played really well against Ashton United. I didn't think the win was ever in doubt and we might have scored a couple more.

"It would have been good if we could have played our League Cup tie against Eastwood Town three days later but the weather intervened.

"But if we can get the result against Matlock and bank six points from two games, it will get us right back in the frame for promotion."

The momentum may have been lost by Tuesday's waterlogged pitch and there is also another downside, as Kittrick was hoping defender Simon Sturdy would have been able to clear the remaining game of his suspension.

"Simon still has one game to sit out as we just haven't got enough matches played since he was handed his two-game ban," said the boss.

"But we have recent signings James Cotterill and Lee Pugh to come in and Damian Dunne could be back from injury, so we should be strong."
