A City teenage starlet has won a dream move to Liverpool.

Andre Wisdom, 14, has joined the Anfield giants in a deal that could prove to be a real money-spinner for the club.

Liverpool have paid an undisclosed fee for the hugely-promising youngster but the T&A understands City will receive a payment up front with further substantial amounts relating to his progress.

Another City youth player is also attracting serious interest from the Premier League, underlining the success of the hard work being put in to the Valley Parade production line.

Youth development officer Peter Horne said: "It's brilliant that what we're doing here is being recognised by clubs at higher levels.

"As far as League Two goes, there's not another club in this division that has had the compensation for youth players that we've received.

"I signed Andre from local junior football and he has just progressed all the time he's been with us.

"We've played him a year up all the time because of his ability. He was playing with the under-15s this season.

"We're very pleased with how far he's come and wish him all the best with this fantastic opportunity."

Joint-chairman Mark Lawn said the deal was a feather in the cap for the City youth structure.

He said: "It's evidence that we've started to produce good youth. This time three years ago it wouldn't have happened, so we must be doing something right.

"Clubs are looking round all over for talent and they've seen what we are producing here.

"Andre wanted to move on and it's a great chance for the lad, so we couldn't hold him back, but if he doesn't make it at Liverpool he's said he will return."

City's youth department have further reason to celebrate after the under-13s returned triumphant from America.

The Bantams side won the Fort Lowell shoot-out in Arizona, rattling in 21 goals in their four games.

City stuffed TMSFC Alliance Gold 6-0 and New Mexico Rush Coyotes 6-1, a match shown live on the internet, to top their group.

The following day they beat Tucson Soccer Academy 1-0 in the last four before another goal rush in the final saw them blast Tanque Verde 8-2.
