THERE was only a couple of Craven Premier Division fixtures to choose from this weekend but there was a flurry of goals.
Cononley Sports Club First put Bingley Town BTFC to the sword, thrashing them 5-1 at home. A Cameron Knowles brace sent the hosts on their way.
Elsewhere, Trawden Celtic Juniors Firsts gave themselves some breathing space at the table’s summit after easing past Carleton Sports Club First by six goals to one, Ben Gorman scoring a hat-trick in the process.
There was only one cup game this weekend between the top division’s sides, and it was played out between Grassington United First team and Cowling Firsts in a local derby.
The hosts (Grassington) edged a 2-0 victory, Fred Midgley striking before substitute Ollie Hunter killed the game.
In Division One, AFC Crossleys First maintained their 100 % winning record, and confirmed a twelfth win from as many games, whitewashing Addingham First 8-0 away from home, Lewis Oldridge and Kaylum Moran Payne both scoring braces.
Elsewhere, Baildon Trinity Athletic First ran out 2-1 winners at Chatburn First, Settle United Reserves suffered a 3-2 defeat at Ingleton First and in the only cup game of the division, Silsden Whitestar Reserves cruised past Salts Thirds to progress through to the next round.
A Zac Conway double in the first half put the hosts firmly in control and they went on to win the tie 2-0.
There was a whole host of fixtures in Division Two. Skipton Town Reserves narrowly got past Hellifield Sports FC in a 1-0 win, Sutton Firsts received a 6-0 hammering at home to Padiham FC Juniors Community, who continue to take control at the top of the table and Otley Town Thirds couldn’t keep momentum going after their 8-0 cup win at Skipton last week. They were beaten 3-2 at Grindleton First.
There were also victories for Crosshills Reserves and Barlick Wanderers Firsts (cup).
In Division Three, FC Keighley United Open Age overcame AFC Crossleys Reserves away from home in a comfortable win, Sutton Reserves eased to a 3-1 victory at Carleton Sports Club 2nd and Settle United Thirds defeated Weston Lane Jnrs S S C OPEN AGE 3-0 at home.
Elsewhere, iPlay FC Second team were in a four goal thriller at home to Cononley Sports Club Second Team, the score eventually finishing at 2-2. Colin Throupe struck twice for the away side.
