The weather and pitch reports are favourable and Eccleshill United sincerely hope their re-arranged Northern Counties East League Cup quarter-final at Lincoln Moorlands Railway goes ahead tonight.

Eagles assistant manager Andy Patterson said: "Our secretary Paul Jarvis has been in touch almost constantly with Lincoln and they have told him it should be playable.

"Apparently they haven't had anything like the amount of rain we've had up here.

"It will be nice to get Saturday's defeat out of our systems. The semi-final draw has been made and we know if we win we will have another long away journey but we just want to be playing."

Manager Mick Watson is also keen to get the players back out on the pitch at the first possible opportunity following last Saturday's disappointing 5-0 defeat at Armthorpe Welfare.

"It looked like a heavy defeat and that has happened regularly over the last couple of weeks but we are creating enough chances to win every game we play," said Watson.

"It will turn round, I'm sure one win will kick us off."

Midfielder Gary Birchill and defender Stuart Waite are both rated as doubtful with ankle injuries.
