BRADFORD (Park Avenue) boss Mark Bower was worried about a lack of strength down his team’s left hand side going into their games against Chester and Gateshead over the next three days.
So he will be delighted that the club announced the capture of left-back Akeem Hinds on a short term contract yesterday afternoon.
Hinds, who played a handful of games on loan for Avenue in 2019, joins the National League North relegation battlers from Buxton, and is available for selection for the Chester game this afternoon, as well as Gateshead on Monday.
In further good news for Bower, who has just seen Reece Staunton (Bradford City) and Nickseon Gomis (Sheffield United) return to their parent clubs, teenager Frankie Maguire has had his loan deal extended until the end of the season.
Maguire is the third youngster Avenue have brought in on loan from Sheffield United this season, after Gomis and Oliver Arblaster, with the latter recalled by the Blades last month.
Midfielder Maguire could prove key for Avenue in their re-arranged game at York City.
The initial game at the LNER Community Stadium on Sunday, January 2 was called off due to Covid issues within the Avenue camp, but will now be played on Tuesday, January 25 (7:45pm kick-off) instead.
The game between the pair at Horsfall, which was due to take place on Boxing Day but had to be called off due to snow, has yet to be re-arranged.
