Leeds United want a fee if Shaun Derry joins Crystal Palace on a permanent transfer.

Derry's loan spell at Selhurst Park is due to end this weekend and the midfielder has said he has no wish to return to Leeds after a much- publicised fall-out with manager Dennis Wise.

Wise was furious with Derry when he refused to answer an SOS and cut his Palace loan short to help solve a shortage of midfield players at Leeds earlier this month.

Now the rift appears to be irreparable.

Palace could seek to take over Derry's contract without paying Leeds a transfer fee but Wise said: "I have spoken to Palace's manager Neil Warnock, and our chief executive Shaun Harvey will be talking to Simon Jordan to try to sort out a fee.

"I am not bothered whether Shaun Derry comes back or not, though I would like to sit down with him and discuss a few things. I am still disappointed in him."
