A BRADFORD tag rugby team made up of a close-knit group of family and friends has lost only one game in calendar year.
The unstoppable team, the Lord of the Trys are based in Bingley, and in four ten-week seasonal leagues in 2021, they have lost only one game.
Led by father and daughter Andrew and Millie Barraclough, the Lords of the Trys compete in a Try Tag Rugby (TTR) league.
Millie, who has been picked to represent Great Britain and Yorkshire in tag rugby, said: "We're based in Bingley but there are clubs in Bradford, Leeds, Wakefield and further afield.
"It's six-a-side and usually the teams include four males and two females.
"Our team includes current and former players, but you don't have to had played rugby to play.
"I played football before starting to play tag rugby.
"But I grew up around rugby mainly because my dad played for 30 years.
"A lot of people on our team have rugby experience but there are a few who have never played rugby before."
Millie's team includes many family members and friends, but despite that they are all very competitive.
"We're all really close but ridiculously competitive as a team. We like to win!"
"We've only lost one game all year, and that includes four seasonal leagues which last ten weeks each."
The Lord of the Trys play Tuesday nights at Bradford & Bingley RUFC, Beckfoot School and Bradford Salem.
The 40-minute matches (two halves of 20 minutes) are played using rugby league rules.
Millie, now 20, started playing at age 15 and said it was difficult to get used to at first.
"It can be harder to get tackles because you have to get the tags."
But Millie has come on in five years and has since been picked to represent the Great Britain and Yorkshire tag rugby training sides.
She is now the Lord of the Trys vice-captain, taking over when her dad Andrew Barraclough, is not available.
The full team includes Millie Barraclough, Andrew Barraclough, Emmett Fleming-McGowan, Carl Smith, Harris Craven-Moore, Adam Watson, Robbie Kirkwood, Chris Hanson, Chantelle Patrick and Ruby Klarzynska.
"We've all clubbed together to forge an unstoppable team," added Millie. "We are great friends and show a lot of promise for the tag rugby community."
