West Bowling were handed an ideal chance to progress in the first round of the Carnegie Challenge Cup when they were drawn away to National Conference Division Two strugglers Askam.

Bowling may be fighting for their lives in the Premier Division but they will fancy their chances at the Cumbria side, who are bottom of their league with only one victory all season.

Bradford Dudley Hill were handed a home draw against neighbours Dewbury Celtic, of the Rugby League Conference National Division.

Bramley Buffaloes were drawn at home to Castleford Panthers, while Drighlington entertain Bank Quay Bulls.

First-round ties are to be played on the weekend of February 2.
