DOUBTS about the Bradford & District Sunday School Billiards League's future were dispelled when a well-attended Emergency General Meeting of the league resolved to reschedule this season's remaining fixtures.
That means that all four teams have a fixture each week, following the sudden withdrawal of Eastbrook.
The season will be shortened by six to eight weeks but two ideas are to be explored to provide players with extra billiards in the New Year.
A new fixture list has been published up to the end of 2021 and this got underway on Tuesday.
A League Committee meeting on December 1 will develop a schedule for the remainder of the season.
This will include the remaining rounds of league fixtures and a team knockout competition, as well as individual billiards and snooker competitions, pairs billiards and the planned new competition which will draw on elements of other ideas suggested at the meeting.
Further ideas to increase the number of teams in subsequent seasons will be developed over the remainder of this season, in advance of the league's Annual General Meeting next summer.
