City will find out tomorrow night if Barnet are heading for Valley Parade on January 26.
And on Wednesday, they will discover if there is any game at all that day.
As it stands, Paul Fairclough's Bees are due in West Yorkshire a week on Saturday. But only if they are not still involved in the FA Cup.
The game clashes with fourth-round day - and, given the choice, Barnet would prefer to be hosting either Fulham or Bristol Rovers. But first they have to get past Swindon in this evening's replay at Underhill.
Should Barnet be unavailable, City could still be in action that day. But again it hinges on the outcome of an FA Cup replay.
Hereford are scheduled to play Wrexham in League Two on January 26, unless they are also in the fourth round. That won't be decided until Wednesday's replay with Tranmere.
If they get through as well, Wrexham would have been kicking their heels like City.
But the Welsh side have agreed to push forward City's trip to the Racecourse Ground from its original February 12 midweek date to fill the otherwise vacant Saturday.
Put simply, the only way City will not have a game a week on Saturday is if Barnet and Tranmere win their replays. Got all that?
