THE sixth event in the Wulfsport A.C.U. British Trials Championship takes place near Brimham Rocks on Sunday, where 82 competitors will bid to score championship points in three classes.

Only six riders will battle it out in the top rank. It could be one of the Peace brothers, Jack and Dan, who comes out on top, but they will have Welsh star Ewan Roberts and Falmouth TRS rider Toby Martyn as fellow contenders.

As far as local competitors go, the A.C.U. Trial 2 will be a battlefield.

Richard Sadler, Andy Chilton, Charlie Smith, Ben Hemingway and Jack Challoner form the home team and they are in for a hard day at the office.

Their teenage rivals are the hottest quintet on two wheels. Local boys Harry and George Hemingway always put on a good show, while Bogner's Jack Dance is a prospect at international level as is Scorpa star Harry Turner.

Watch also for a fourth generation Lampkin in Alfie.

The A.C.U. Trial Expert features Dan Thorpe, World and British champion Emma Bristow, Dan Hemingway, Danny Gamble, Elliott Laws, Manx girl Kaytlyn Adshead, Telford teenager Alice Minta and talented Londoner Alicia Robinson.

The timetable starts at 2pm tomorrow, with a walking tour of the sections. The action commences at 9:30am on Sunday, with a two hours, 15 minutes maximum first lap.

The overall time allowance is five hours, 10 minutes.

As for last weekend’s action, the Richmond club headed for Carlton and the acres of Peter Dinsdale and Andrew Dent at Town Foot Farm, where 44 competitors competed on a tricky 12 section four lap course.

The three stream sections had green slime-coated rocks and took the lion's share of the penalties. The action saw the return to trialling of Aiden Simpson, who cleaned section five on lap one.

The girls were out in force too in Beth Watling, Bea Royle and Hannah Richardson, with the latter riding her father's new TRS.

Another on a new machine was Paul Sadler, who, on a new Vertigo, took the Over-40s from Wensleydale part-time resident William Wood.

The conditions at Lee Gate Farm on Sunday tested the Bradford Motor Club organisers to the full.

Sections two and three were overwhelmed with water and the routing had to be changed completely, while there was a tricky section eight too.

In the end, 77 competitors rode a 10 section four lap course.

Four classes were on hand and notably 10 competed on the Beginners Course.

It was a good day for Barnoldswick teenager Lucy Ayrton, who came top in Youth Class A, and Bradford schoolboy Charlie Petty, who took the honours in Youth Class B.

Shelf star Sam Boocock won on the Inters on the Championship Course.

Finally, The Wetherby Motor Club cancelled their Blades Trophy Trial at the eleventh hour on Saturday.

The long-established event was due to take place at Bayliss Gap Farm but heavy rain and trials machines would have damaged the terrain. The many footpaths through the woods are very popular for walkers.

No new date has been considered as yet.
