FORMER Bradford Park (Avenue) and Guiseley player Steven Drench has announced his retirement from football.
He was at fellow West Yorkshire outfit Farsley Celtic last season too, while he briefly had a spell in the Football League with Morecambe over a decade ago.
He spent six years at Guiseley from 2010, making nearly 250 league appearances for the club.
He joined Avenue in 2017, and helped them to two successive play-off finishes.
Announcing his retirement on Twitter, Drench said: “A thank you to football.
“Many years have passed since putting on my first pair of gloves and boots as an Under-8 at Beechfield United, to playing my last game for Farsley Celtic in January.
“But the time has now come to call time on my playing career.”
