Eccleshill United 2, Selby Town 2

Eccleshill United came from behind twice to draw 2-2 with Selby Town in an entertaining game at Plumpton Park.

Like most fixtures at the weekend, the match was played in harsh weather conditions but it did not detract from the spectacle.

Eagles goalkeeper Carl Zaborowski was called into action early on when he had to tip a shot that was swirling in the wind onto his crossbar. But he could do nothing when Christian Fox popped up to tap the loose ball home and give Selby the lead. United hit back quickly.

Gary Birchill sent Andy Howland away and his cross picked out Andy Philps, who netted a shot across the Selby keeper. The Eagles were flying at that point but they suffered another setback when the visitors went ahead again against the run of play. Just after the half-hour United's vice captain Stuart Waite made a casual pass that was intercepted by Fox and he bagged his second goal.

In the second half, United got back on terms when James Gorman fed skipper Chris Rosindale, who back-heeled into the path of Gary Birchill and he fired in.
