Dennis Wise has the answer to Sol Campbell's campaign against foul-mouthed supporters - poke fun at them.
Former Chelsea and England dynamo Wise was a prime target for the hate mob in his playing days and still gets abuse from crowds after moving into management. But the Leeds boss believes players should look after themselves in the verbal stakes by giving as good as they get.
Wise said: "When fans start running on the pitch or throwing things it's not right but when they hurl abuse we are big enough to look after ourselves and get on with it.
"We are punished when we step out of line but you do take abuse from fans. If you turned round and said the same to them you would be fined, so it's rules for some and rules for others.
"Sometimes it is possible to have a laugh with them. The person who abuses you may be fat, bald or both, so you give him a bit of stick about his appearance and everyone has a laugh."
Campbell has called on the FA, the players' union (PFA) and the Government to act against fans who dish out abuse.
