GUISELEY joint-manager Marcus Bignot has departed Aston Villa, the day after he helped them to stay in the Women's Super League.
A magnificent 0-0 draw at high-flying Arsenal secured their place in top-flight for another season, with interim manager Bignot at the helm.
He came in in January with the newly-promoted club in a precarious position, but they have ended the season with five absolutely vital draws in a row.
As it turned out, Villa would have been safe after yesterday's other results, given bottom club Bristol City, who had to win, went down 3-1 at Brighton.
The Robins will be replaced in the league by Leicester, who won the Women's Championship last month.
Villa's draw also saw them finish a point above great rivals Birmingham, who lost 1-0 at home to Tottenham.
But Birmingham also survived, with only one relegation slot in the top flight.
