New Guiseley manager Steve Kittrick is still looking for a first victory six fixtures into his reign, although the first three of those following his appointment were all postponed.

Just two of the three defeats have been in the UniBond Premier Division, the other coming against Blue Square Premier outfit Kidderminster Harriers in the FA Trophy, so there is no panic at Nethermoor.

But Kittrick will be keen to get the first notch on his belt when Prescot Cables visit on Saturday as Guiseley have dropped off the pace in the race for promotion to the Blue Square North since Terry Dolan was sacked.

Guiseley director Stuart Allen said: "In the first two games under Steve we played well but lost, including the Trophy game against Kidderminster, then last Saturday we didn't play too well.

"It wasn't a poor performance, although we didn't deserve anything from the game. It just hasn't clicked over the last few weeks. I think someone at the club has run over a black cat or something."

The bad luck hit Kittrick's latest signing Damien Dunne on Boxing Day. The former Bradford Park Avenue and Farsley Celtic midfielder made his full debut against Gateshead but lasted only a quarter hour.

Allen said: "Damien was limping badly after taking a heavy knock. It was a shame because it was 0-0 at the time and he was playing really well. He made a big difference to our midfield, tackling well and distributing the ball accurately.

"I don't think he is ruled out for the Prescot game for definite but Steve and Wayne Benn will have to make their minds up on the squad on Saturday morning."
