Colne 1 Silsden 3
The Cobbydalers won their big derby clash in the Vodkat League Division One, despite finishing with ten men at their nearest neighbours Colne.
"They are above us in the table, have just hit form, have two of our old boys in Jamie Longley and Michael Rosser and have always been our nemesis. But we held the ace, we were away from home," quipped Silsden boss Paul Schofield.
Silsden's form has been excellent away and they used that to their advantage in this clash to run out comfortable winners.
The opener came from the spot after Lee Reilly was fouled as he latched onto a through ball in the sixth minute. Michael Rhodes stepped up to fire the penalty home.
Skipper Martin Bland flicked in the second from a Martin Packer cross.
Just after the half-hour, Packer and Danny McNulty combined to produce a cross that Rhodes converted with a back-post volley.
Bland was dismissed for a second yellow card in the second half and just three minutes later Liam Garbutt scored for Colne but it proved to be nothing more than a consolation strike.
