Guiseley 1, Gateshead 2
In the UniBond League Premier Division, Guiseley suffered a home defeat against promotion rivals Gateshead today, the north easterners making the most of a rare bad display by the Nethermoor men.
Several chances were created by the home side but Gateshead's clinical marksman David Southern showed them the way.
He fired in the only goal of the first half on the half-hour and drilled a second, which appeared to go right through home keeper Steve Dickinson, just before the hour.
Within minutes, Guiseley had a foothold. Mark Bett whipped in a cross and Marc Smith chested it over the line.
Dickinson 's opposite number then pulled off a fortunate save to deny James Hanson and ensure the visitors took all the points.
