Selby Town 2, Eccleshill United 3

The Eagles blasted away the cobwebs of an inactive fortnight to claim their second win of the month at the expense of Selby Town, who were just above them in the Northern Counties East Premier Division.

Eccleshill trail the North Yorkshire outfit by just one point now after the weekend win took the Bradford club through the 30-point barrier.

But it began with a nightmare moment. Scott Price, the United player who has just returned to the club from a spell with Selby, steered a header past his own keeper to gift Selby the lead after 40 seconds.

There was an element of luck about the equaliser. A corner was forced, Chris Rosindale (pictured) whipped it in and when it was half-cleared, Andy Philp lashed the ball into the turf only to see it rear up, beat the home keeper and fly into the top corner.

Philp netted from a more genuine effort minutes into the second half but that was ruled out because Andy Howland had strayed offside.

The Eagles did get in front though. A flowing move produced a cross, Howland headed it on and Ryan Wood tucked it home.

A mistake seven minutes from time allowed Selby's Christian Fox to level but United were not to be denied their win.

Rosindale started the move that ended with Philp being brought down in the area and Rosindale converted the resultant penalty.
