THE West Yorkshire League , having made the decision not to complete their normal league due to the extended covid break, commenced their replacement Presidents Challenge on Saturday.
The first matches in Division one are on Saturday 17th, so it was Pool Reserves making a start.
They had the misfortune of travelling to form team Ilkley reserves on Saturday, being outplayed, the Ilkley finishing outstanding, going down 10-0.
Monday saw them entertaining Rothwell reserves, a match they would easily have won had they put away their first half chances. As it was, following a hotly disputed penalty, they had to settle for a 3-3 draw, Jacob Holberry netting twice with Tom Robertshaw adding the third.
This Saturday, they travel to Tingley Athletic reserves, while the First team start their campaign with a home match against Gomersal & Cleckheaton Hartshead.
