Manager John Boyle knows good results in the league over Christmas and throughout January are the priority but he admitted he is looking forward to the next cup tie.

In the first week of February, Thackley visit Harrogate Railway in the quarter-finals of the West Riding County Cup.

"I suppose we would have liked a home tie but if we have to settle for second best then this is a very good second," said Boyle.

"I enjoy going to Railway and I like their people, it's a great club. I know Vince Brockie and have a lot of time for him and Dave Morgan, they have been around and have achieved plenty in the game.

"It will also be nice to play against James Riley again. He spent a lot of years here with us before moving on to Harrogate Railway once they got into the UniBond League.

"On paper, we might have had a better chance of getting through to the semis if Railway had lost to Tadcaster Albion in the last round. We have nothing against Taddy' but we are delighted Railway won it so we could play them.

"It won't be a foregone conclusion - we have taken Farsley Celtic close on a couple of occasions in this competition. We are only one step lower than Railway so it is all to play for."

The full draw is: Guiseley v Harrogate Town, Halifax Town v Ossett Albion, Harrogate Railway Athletic v Thackley, Bradford PA v Eccleshill United.
