New Guiseley boss Steve Kittrick takes his team to Eastwood Town on Saturday in upbeat mood despite finally starting his Nethermoor career with a defeat in midweek.

That came at the hands of Kidderminster Harriers, a Blue Square Premier club two divisions higher up the pyramid, and only by a last-minute wonder goal.

"To be fair, the lads did ever so well - they ran their blood to water," said Kittrick after his side's FA Trophy exit.

"We held a Conference side at bay for over an hour and created the better chances in the game.

"Dean Walters went through one on one with their keeper, not 30 seconds after they had levelled. If that goes in it would have killed them.

"I can't fault Dean, or any of the lads for that matter, because they kept making those chances happen. On another day Mark Bett would have had a hat-trick. There are loads of positives to build on.

"We were the best team for long periods. Kidderminster's fitness told late on but our lads had given everything.

"Now we have to take that into Eastwood and be organised. It won't be easy but we have enough in our locker to take the game to them."

Kittrick adds Damien Dunne to the squad after signing him from Farsley Celtic in a move that saw Dominic Krief going the other way. Striker Gavin Knight is available after being cup-tied.
