DANNY Rowe is set to return for City at Scunthorpe tomorrow - if the game goes ahead.
The striker, who has scored two in three games since signing from Oldham, missed the weekend defeat against Exeter after being laid low by a heavy cold.
But joint-interim boss Conor Sellars confirmed that Rowe was back in training this morning.
He said: "Danny has been in today. He did have his (Covid) test and it came back negative.
"We're hopeful he's going to be involved tomorrow."
There is also better news on Gareth Evans and Andy Cook although Billy Clarke is still sidelined with a hamstring problem.
"Hopefully we'll get some players back in which will help us having a little bit more variety," added Sellars. "There are promising signs."
Scunthorpe were forced to work elsewhere today because their training pitch was out of action. The forecast in Lincolnshire is for snow and freezing temperatures leading up to kick-off.
Sellars said: "We're just trying to be professional and prepare for the game as though it's on, irrelevant of the weather.
"It's something that's affecting everybody. We went down to Exeter and it was a lovely blue sky - a little bit further north and you seem to get a bit of snow."
