The opening week of new Guiseley manager Steve Kittrick's tenure was dogged by foul weather and he goes into Saturday's FA Trophy home tie with Kidderminster Harriers still seeking to oversee his first game.

The UniBond Premier Division matches at Ashton last weekend (waterlogged) and at home to Frickley Athletic (frozen pitch) in midweek were both postponed, all of which leaves Kittrick to make his belated bow in the first round proper of the Trophy.

"No worries, as it means I'm undefeated going into this game," said the boss in waiting, who is looking forward to the visit of Blue Square Premier outfit Kidderminster.

"I don't know much about them, as they are too high up the non-league ladder for us to have played them before.

"I have watched the DVD of their last game, which was televised on Setanta Sports, but you can only tell so much from that. You can't tell who is six foot-odd tall or which players are the fastest.

"One thing will be for sure, they will be no mugs. You don't get into what was the Conference by accident. I'm fine with it as we have got everything to gain and nothing to lose."

Kittrick added: "I am disappointed that the last two games have been off. Everyone gets uneasy when there are changes at a club and we want to get back to the bread and butter stuff. The postponements have not helped but it's football and it happens.

"The extra couple of days should have helped Simon Sturdy's recovery from flu but Danny Ellis and James Hanson will still need fitness tests.

"Rob Pell has left - he has joined Frickley - but we have signed Tom Agus, the former Bradford Park Avenue left back, from Wakefield."
