Liversedge have home advantage on Saturday when they face Shirebrook Town at Clayborn and will be looking for the points that could take them to the summit of the Northern Counties East Premier Division.

As one of a handful of clubs that managed to get a game in last weekend, they made the most of the opportunity. A 2-1 win at Brodsworth took Sedge to second spot, trailing leaders Winterton Rangers on goal difference only, though they now have two games in hand.

"Simon Wood took a knock against Brodsworth and Damien Melvin had to come off at half-time after being hit by a very bad tackle, so our squad is being put to the test," said Sedge boss Steve Newton.

"Those two lads are both struggling, as is Luke Sherman, while Andy Markham and Paul Smith are definitely out. The players are keen to get the game on as they are on their Christmas do afterwards. They hope to go into their night out with a smile on their faces."
