OLYMPIC bronze medallist Nile Wilson has announced his retirement from gymnastics.
The 24-year-old, who is from Pudsey, secured Great Britain’s first Olympic medal on the high bar in Rio in 2016 but has been hampered by injuries since.
Yesterday, Wilson wrote on his official Instagram account: “Today I hang up my hand guards and retire from the professional sport of gymnastics.”
As well as his success at the Olympics, he won three gold medals at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia, two as an individual and a team one.
