Thackley's match referee was the day's biggest ditherer as Saturday's non-league programme was decimated by the wet weather.
It was obviously not playable at Dennyfield but he delayed the decision until after his assistants reached the ground less than an hour before kick-off.
They were due to host Glasshoughton Welfare in the Northern Counties East Premier Division.
Regular inspections were made from mid-morning but the final decision was not forthcoming until almost 2.30pm.
