ONE of Bradford Bulls' own has left the club after four years of service for a move further up north.
Evan Hodgson, who is a product of Bulls' academy system, has signed for League One side Newcastle Thunder.
The 22-year-old made his debut back in the 2017 Championship relegation season, making eight appearances and scoring two tries.
On the back of that, he signed a three-year contract extension to remain at Odsal. However, the Leeds-born forward did not not play a senior game the year later.
2019 only saw Hodgson feature for John Kear's side a couple of times before a loan spell at Doncaster.
The second-rower did take to the field on three occasions in the truncated 2020 campaign but both parties have decided it was best to part ways.
All good things come to an end. Been at the club since I was 14, had some unbelievable times since then with some legend players and great staff. A massive shame it’s finished the way it has not knowing I’d played my last game for the club and my best mates. 1/2 https://t.co/GGRcYY6QgE

Hodgson may still retain his status as a second-tier player with his new club.
Today was the deadline for League One clubs to apply for the 14th spot in the Championship which will be left by either Bradford, Leigh, London, Toulouse, York or Featherstone.
Newcastle, Barrow Raiders and Rochdale Hornets have all applied for entry.
