CITY are through to the second round of the FA Youth Cup after a thrilling 3-2 win at Blackpool.
Two goals from skipper Charlie Wood and another by Connor Morris earned Mark Trueman’s side victory.
The young Bantams got off to the perfect start by striking twice in the opening 13 minutes through Wood.
He needed just two minutes to head home from a corner and further stunned Blackpool with a superb half-volley from the edge of the area.
City, who included 16-year-old Sam Bentley, were well worth their two-goal lead at the break.
But Blackpool fought back in the second half and James Harrison nodded home from Rob Apter’s cross to reduce the arrears on 54 minutes.
Morris and Jack Wilson both had chances for City before the home side drew level through Brad Holmes.
But the visitors were not to be denied and Morris produced a good finish from a tough angle 13 minutes from time to clinch the win.
