REECE Staunton is back in contention for City after missing the last two games through injury.
The teenage defender trained fine with the squad today and Stuart McCall confirmed he is in the mix for Newport’s visit to Valley Parade on Saturday.
McCall has also not ruled out Bryce Hosannah, whose toe injury from the Walsall game is not serious.
He said: "The x-ray doesn't show any crack or fracture which is positive but he's still in a little bit of discomfort. We'll give him every chance to be available for Saturday.”
Gareth Evans and Zeli Ismail are stepping up their recovery work after hamstring injuries and should be back available within the next 10 days. Levi Sutton did some running on the treadmill this morning and hopes to be back training outside tomorrow.
