West Bowling may be second bottom of the National Conference Premier Division but they are certainly giving the big boys a run for their money, which they proved once again in the 34-18 defeat at leaders East Hull on Saturday.
Bowling began where they left off in last week's win over high-fliers Wigan St Patricks, centre Trevor Stead getting the ball rolling with an early try.
Keighley Cougars-bound prop Danny Murgatroyd was on the scoreboard on the half hour and bright new forward prospect Ross Simpson made the whitewash before the half-time whistle, which together with three Lee Innes' conversions saw West go into the sheds 18-12 up.
The classy Hull outfit had to work their socks off in the second half and the match was still in the melting pot at 22-18 with five minutes to go.
A late burst massaged the final total as Richard Heseltine's men, led by stylist loose forward Adie Leek, showed they are now a force to be reckoned with.
