Stuart McCall is convinced City's FA Cup exit will cause no lasting damage to morale.

McCall's men face two away games this week to kick off a crucial phase of their League Two campaign as they look to bridge the gap with mid-table.

City had been beaten just once in the previous seven games before Saturday's 3-0 cup humbling by Tranmere.

And McCall is confident his side can recover from that jolt to the system ahead of Wednesday night's trip to Mansfield.

He said: "We'll be fresh and focused for the week ahead. We've got two big away games coming up at Mansfield and Chesterfield and things can look very different by Saturday.

"The players realise themselves they were up against a good Tranmere side. That's why they are in the division higher because they are probably better players.

"There are a lot in our dressing room who can play at a higher level but they didn't show that on Saturday, which was disappointing.

"But I don't think that result will hamper us confidence-wise. We can look towards Mansfield now, which is a big game for us, and I expect us to bounce back."

McCall has two injury concerns up front. Guylain Ndumbu-Nsungu is still suffering with a knock he picked up at the weekend and did not train today and Peter Thorne picked up a little niggle.

But Mark Bower came through his first training session after recovering from his recent illness and could make Wednesday's squad.
