Liversedge 4, Nostell MW 0
November ended with manager Steve Newton suffering back-to-back defeats for the first time under his leadership but Liversedge bounced back in style with a handsome Northern Counties East League victory over one of their Premier Division promotion rivals.
The home side took a slender lead into the break but it was their second-half performance that won them the game. They netted three more goals but with a more ruthless streak they could have had at least double that haul.
A dull half hour faded into the memory when a Nicky Boshell corner was crossed back in by recent signing Andy Shuttleworth. His low drive created a pinball situation in the visitors' area and Damian Melvin finally converted with a chipped shot.
Sedge were pushing for a second goal and it eventually came with a slice of fortune into the second half, when Boshell's wind-assisted cross floated straight over the Nostell keeper's head.
A rapid third then killed the contest as Danny Cooper drove into the bottom corner from outside the area after Boshell had laid off a Matty Fahy cross.
Several more chances were created by the home side but the last nail in Nostell's coffin was not driven in until late. Again Boshell was involved and it was his through-ball that invited Melvin to race in before rounding the keeper and slotting in.
