BRADFORD Moor were left cursing their inability to finish off One Stop in Division A of the Dales Council League at the weekend, as their opponents held on grimly for a draw.
Moor scored 161 (Shahazad Mehmood 33, Taimoor Qureshi 4-38, Rafaqat Mehmood 4-43) in 37.3 overs, and the One Stop reply looked in real trouble at 109-9 after 22.2 overs.
But they managed to hold on to finish on 125-9 (Rizwan Ali 34, Iftikhar Hussain 4-31) in 27 overs for a rain affected draw.
Leaders Leeds Caribbean batted first and scored a fine 184-3 (Mohammad Hamid 38, Atta Bashir 36) and then held opponents Savile Stars to 77-9 (Mubtada Akhtar 5-13) in their 40 overs to maintain top spot.
In the only other game to start in Division A, Thornbury batted first and made 141-6 (Mohammad Humzah 46) against Drighlington.
Drig’s reply began poorly when they lost their first three wickets for only 14 runs, but a partnership of 73 between last week’s centurion Richard Whitehurst (33) and skipper Matty Waller (67 not out) steadied the innings and the home side finished on 147-5 in 28.3 overs for victory.
In Division B, Baildon were 70-5 (Darren Wilson 33no, Asif Sheikh 3-8) after 33 overs against leaders Interlink when rain stopped play and the match was abandoned.
Elsewhere, Thornbury B were bowled out for a paltry 49 (Mohammed Faisal 6-25) by Mayfield, who replied with 50-2 (Antony Moss 32) for an easy victory. That saw them leapfrog their opponents and move up into second.
Cookridge B were bowled out for only 87 by Tong Park Esholt, who replied with 88-1 (Jim Law 45, Nick Goldsmith 42no) to maintain fourth place.
Muff Field were 140-6 (James Fallon 50) against Adel when rain stopped play and the match was abandoned.
The same thing happened to Shipley Providence's game against Pudsey Congs. The former were 78-5, before the bad weather brought an end to proceedings.
In Division C, Baildon B elected to bat and were bowled out for 51 in 23 overs by Rodley, who replied with 55-2 in 15.3 overs for victory, securing the title for their youthful side in the process.
Morley did far better when they chose to bat first, scoring 183-3 declared (Jagankumar Manoharan 57no, Bailey Goodlad 50no) before dismissing Cookridge C for only 36 (Ben Richardson 4-5, Bailey Goodlad 3-5) to secure runners up spot in the division.
Elsewhere, Drighlington B were 104-8 (Ghulam Mustafa 5-33) after 35 overs when rain caused the abandonment of their match against Mayfield B and St Chad's Broomfield B vs St Chad's Broomfield was abandoned with no play.
