CITY’S friendly against Huddersfield WILL go ahead, the clubs this afternoon confirmed.
Wednesday’s game will now take place at the John Smith’s Stadium, where it was originally planned before being switched to the Terriers’ Canalside training ground, with a 3pm kick-off.
The match had been in doubt after Huddersfield reported some positive tests for COVID-19.
That forced them to cancel a proposed game against Southport at the weekend.
But following further tests, and with the agreement of the EFL, City’s visit will still happen.
And as a boost for fans, the behind-closed-doors game will be streamed live on YouTube.
Huddersfield had also been scheduled to play Fleetwood but the League One club pulled out after the COVID announcement.
The news will come as a relief for Stuart McCall, whose team have played two friendlies so far.
The season starts a week on Saturday at Bolton in the Carabao Cup.
