A SPEEDWAY legend who was a world finalist at Odsal in 1990 has died at the age of 55.
Roman Matousek, described as one of the sport's most colourful characters, competed as an opposition rider many times at the Bradford venue.
And he was one of the 16 qualifiers for the 1990 World Speedway Final at Odsal.
The Czech rider was known as ‘The Wild Man of the Tracks’ and had one of the most flamboyant styles the sport has seen.
Matousek was a former rider for the Sheffield Tigers where he gained over 1,000 points for the club in over 100 appearances.
