BRADFORD City have decided to end Reece Staunton’s work experience loan to Bradford (Park Avenue) early.
The 17-year-old was set to remain at the Vanarama National League North bottom-placed side until January 12 after joining the club at the end of November.
However, the Bantams have cut his stay short in preparation for the under-18s’ fourth round FA Youth Cup tie with Chelsea, with the left back expected to join the youth squad for next Wednesday’s game at Aldershot.
Staunton made seven appearances for Avenue, only being on the winning side on two occasions in the cup at Gloucester and in the victory against Altrincham.
He is one of four youngsters returning to the Bantams in preparation for the prestigious clash with Chelsea.
Fellow defenders Jorge Sikora and Finn Cousin-Dawson had been at FC United of Manchester and Brighouse Town respectively.
Midfielder Eliot Goldthorp has also returned from a spell at Radcliffe - who he joined on Christmas Eve.
Meanwhile, Park Avenue have announced that Isiah Bazeley has also returned to his parent club Aston Villa following an agreement from both clubs to terminate his loan deal early.
The 19-year-old full back returns to the Premier League club after making 20 appearances in total for the Horsfall side, bagging two goals in the cup competitions.
