BRADFORD Bulls have announced that a string of their former players will take to the field against Leeds Rhinos on Sunday for Jamie Jones Buchanan's testimonial which is also raising money for The Rob Burrow fund, set up following the rugby league legend’s diagnosis with motor neurone disease in December.
Robbie Hunter-Paul, Nathan McAvoy, Wayne Godwin, Matty Blythe and Stuart Fielden are all in line to don the famous red, amber and black colours in the closing stages of the pre-season clash at Headingley.
The Rhinos have also said that the likes of Kevin Sinfield and Jamie Peacock will appear in the Leeds shirt.
Hunter-Paul has spoken of his excitement of playing for his much-loved club again for such a great cause.
He said: “I am really looking forward to pulling on the jersey again and getting back out on the field with all the boys – even though it is a bit daunting knowing I will be the oldest player on the pitch!
“We enjoyed some classic matches against Leeds over the years and it promises to be a special, emotional afternoon celebrating the career of Jamie Jones-Buchanan and rallying round in support of a true legend in Rob Burrow.
“I call on the Bradford Bulls fans to purchase a ticket and get to the Emerald Headingley Stadium on Sunday and show their support to Rob and his family.”
The Bradford Bulls have pledged to donate all proceeds from gate receipts to The Rob Burrow Fund.
