JOHN Kear believes his Bulls “misfits” can shake up the Championship next season.

He has made five signings so far for 2020 – who all arrive at the club with a point to prove.

Having watched Salford rip up the Super League form book last year with a team of highly-motivated recruits, Kear hopes the Bulls can follow suit.

The Bulls coach said: “They talked about Salford as being the misfits in Super League last season with all the people having something to prove.

"If we’re the misfits of the Championship, I’ll be more than happy to get to a Grand Final.

“I’m confident as well that we’ve got enough leaders within our group to ensure that our standards don’t slip – and will actually improve.

“I’m well at ease with what we’ve done recruitment-wise and we haven’t finished yet.”

The Bulls have added Super League experience with their new signings and Kear insists the pulling power of the club remains the same despite the recent financial turmoil.

He added: “When we’re speaking to players, I don’t have to sell the club to them.

“As soon as they look round our training facilities and they see the crowd we had for the last game at Odsal and in the league, they know we’re a big club. It becomes much easier then.

“I think we’ve got some really good signings over the line to give everybody a boost.”
